Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences in Jawahar Lal Nehru Bhartiya Chikitsa Avum Homeopathy Anusandhan Bhavan, New Delhi, India was established as an Autonomous body under Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. The university was established in 1970. This centre is governed by Ministry of AYSUH and are supervised by the Scientific Advisory Board and Scientific Advisory Group.

MISSION AND VISION

"To evolve scientific evidence in Ayurvedic Principles, drug remedies by way of integrating ancient wisdom with present technology and to bring Ayurveda to the people through scientific innovations related to diagnostics, inhibitory, promotive as well as treatment methods and also introduce scientific research for sustained availability of quality natural resources, to translate them into products and processes and in synergy with concerned institution to introduce these innovations into public wellbeing."

RESEARCH IN AYURVEDA

The Research Council has been executing its programmes with a network of 30 peripheral Institutes/centres/units with the headquarters office responsible for control, monitoring and supervision.

Research Area Comprise:

1) Clinical research

The council is working in the validation and development of formulations for disease/clinical conditions. They are conducting all this research in collaboration with different institutes in certain disease condition.

2) Fundamental research

Various steps are taken to develop a Standardized Questionnaire for Assessment of Prakriti and its relevance.

3) Medicinal plant research

With the help of survey council is preserving more than 1,20,000 plant species.

4) Literature research

"Journal of Research in Ayurvedic Sciences", "Journal of Drug Research in Ayurveda Sciences" and "Journal of Indian Medical Heritage" are publishing periodicals of council.
